Many people’s:favourite: Sauvignon blanc

Along with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most popular white wine varieties of all, and for that reason, they are both cultivated worldwide. Sauvignon is often aged in a steel tank and bottled while young. When produced in this way, crisp acidity, aromas of freshly cut grass, gooseberries and pineapple can be discovered. The most popular Sauvignon Blanc in the Delinat range grows in the Spanish region of Rueda. It is called Saxum Sauvignon Blanc and ripens in the vineyards of the Bodega Menade. As in the case of all Delinat wine producers, particular attention is paid to biodiversity.

Typical characteristics of the Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is a wine that you don’t easily forget. Its aromas are so distinctive and unmistakable that you quickly recognise it again. Characteristic features include a fresh, present acidity, for example, as well as exotic aromas or vegetable notes. A good example can be found in the Maison Coulon Sauvignon Blanc, which exudes freshness and vivacity.

It can also be different

Barrique-ageing changes the aromas of the Sauvignon Blanc – the wines become more complex and tangy. This style is cherished in parts of the Bordelais region. Sauvignon Blanc also blended with Sémillon here. Both dry white wines and sweet wines such as Sauternes are produced from this.
