In this region, or more precisely in Provence, lies the Château Duvivier, the research vineyard of Delinat. This is where wine producer Erik Bergmann develops the viticulture of the future. Even now the vineyards of Château Duvivier are delivering vintages that are among the finest that France has to offer.
The South of France, an organic wine paradise
The large region of Languedoc-Roussillon in the southwest of France is considered to be a pioneer in the production of organic wine. This is also where some of the most successful French wines in the extensive Delinat range come from. With their biodiversity projects, wine producers like Louis Fabre and the Lignères brothers not only press some outstanding wines but also ensure that there is a diversity of life in their vineyards. Louis Fabres’ repeatedly high-scoring Château Coulon and the impressive red wines of the Lignères family at the foot of the Montagne d'Alaric demonstrate that oenological and ecological commitment pay off.
France, land of diversity
Good French red wine does not all come from Bordeaux or Bourgogne. There are also other regions of France where experts press wines that make sense of the German expression, “leben wie Gott in Frankreich” (“living like God in France”, or living the life of Riley). Their wealth seems inexhaustible solely as a result of the diversity of the grapes. The varieties that ripen along the Rhone, in Languedoc-Roussillon and in Provence, include Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan, Mourvèdre and many more. Whether produced from a single variety or in combination with others, they create much that is distinctive and substantial.
