Tempranillo – Spain’s most popular red wine

Tempranillo is by far the most important red wine variety in Spain. It plays the leading role in many wine regions. Tempranillo tastes bold and fruity, it has fine tannin and for many, it embodies Spanish red wine per se.

Thanks to the application of the Delinat methods, distinctive features of the variety, the soil and the local climate are emphasised and even the respective origin becomes clearly noticeable. Make friends with this Spanish speciality: In the ”Viva España” sampler pack, a selection of Spanish red wines from different regions, you will find Tempranillo as a single-variety wine or in combination with other varieties.

Tempranillo – typical and yet different

Depending on the region, the wines that are produced entirely or partially from Tempranillo grapes display an entirely different character. In the Rioja, Navarra or Penedès regions, they tend to taste light, tangy and fruity. Ribera del Duero produces wines with a claim to strength and fullness; the grape here is called Tinto Fino or Tinto del País. As suggested by its name, the Toro region is known for its hot-blooded and powerful reds. In the La Mancha region, where Tempranillo often goes by the name of Cencibel, the wines are especially good value for money.

In harmony with nature

The Tempranillo wines in the Delinat range are produced by family businesses in a variety of regions in accordance with the most demanding organic guidelines. The grapes ripen in vineyards that display an incomparable level of biodiversity for the good of nature and the pleasure of the drinker. Character and origin become clearly perceptible in the glass.
