World-class Cabernet Sauvignon

No grape variety is cultivated more frequently anywhere in the world than Cabernet Sauvignon. This can be explained by its qualities in cultivation and ageing. Starting in Bordeaux, it has conquered the world. Cabernet Sauvignon is often not bottled as a single-variety wine but blended with other varieties.

Aromas of blackcurrant or green pepper, tobacco or pepper, characterise a cuvée with a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. Young wines are often rich in tannin, so ageing in barriques has a positive effect.

Cabernet Sauvignon - a welcome partner

The area surrounding Bordeaux is the heartland of Cabernet Sauvignon cuvées including Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This so-called Bordeaux blend finds its imitators in many places. In other regions, they also like to blend Cabernet Sauvignon with local grape varieties thanks to its structure and character. Fascinating blends emerge in many places with Sangiovese, Tempranillo or Syrah.

Delinat’s Cabernets come solely from producers who work according to the demanding Delinat guidelines. The grapes ripen in vineyards that are characterised by their natural diversity. Welcome to the table

Cabernet Sauvignon wines are often tannic, they smell and taste of concentrated fruity notes and toasty aromas, the latter as a result of barrique-ageing. These properties make Cabernet Sauvignon the ideal accompaniment for grilled beef or lamb. If you prefer to avoid meat, aubergine gratin, stews or hearty mushroom dishes are good alternatives.
