Organic boom among Austria‘s wines
No other country has so radically transformed its cultivation methods as Austria. Over ten per cent of all its vineyards are already organically certified. If the Grüne Veltliner is the dominant grape for white wine, in the case of the reds it’s the Zweigelt. Other important grapes for red wine are Blaufränkisch and St.Laurent. These autochthonous Austrian varieties turn out very differently according to region. The Wachau and Kremstal regions are famous for white wine, and the Burgenland region for its red wines. The wines maturing in the cellars of Delinat’s producers are visiting cards of the respective wine-growing regions. The mineral Riesling Dürnsteiner Kellerberg from Weingut Harm represents the Wachau region; the elegant Zweigelt Essentia Rara from Weingut Sepp Mose and the aromatic Blaufränkisch from Weingut Bauer-Pöltl represent the Burgenland region.
